Kentucky's fight against hunger is getting a delicious boost! Tickets are on sale now for the sixth annual Serving Up Solutions dinner, a fundraising event that brings together lawmakers and community leaders to raise awareness and funds for three crucial organizations: Feeding Kentucky, Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, and Glean Kentucky.
In our Bluegrass state, one in eight residents, including one in six children, struggle with food insecurity. Rising costs and economic hardship are making the situation even more dire, putting a strain on food banks and service providers across the commonwealth.
This is where Serving Up Solutions steps in. Since its 2018 launch, the dinner has raised over $150,000 to empower these organizations in their vital work. Imagine an evening of delectable food, lively company, and a chance to join forces with Kentucky's leaders to make a real difference in the lives of struggling families.
"Serving Up Solutions is more than just a dinner," says Melissa McDonald, Executive Director of Feeding Kentucky. "It's a powerful platform to raise awareness about food insecurity and unite our community in the fight against hunger."
Echoing this sentiment, Roger LaPointe, Executive Director of Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, emphasizes the importance of events like this. "Funds from Serving Up Solutions allow us to expand our reach and provide much-needed food assistance throughout the year. Every ticket sold, every volunteer, every sponsor – all of you are making a difference."
Ben Southworth, Executive Director of Glean Kentucky, adds, "Serving Up Solutions is a vital connection point for us. It allows us to build relationships with legislators and secure crucial support for our mission of reducing food waste and hunger across Kentucky."
Mark your calendars for January 31, 2024, at 6 p.m. EST. Join the bipartisan team of celebrity wait staff at the Frankfort Country Club for an unforgettable night of giving and community spirit. Tickets are just $125 per person – a small price to pay for a big impact on the lives of thousands of Kentuckians facing food insecurity.
