Hardin County Farmers' Market Celebrates 46th Anniversary with Festive Community Gathering

The Hardin County Farmers' Market gears up to commemorate its 46th anniversary with a joyous celebration at its location on Peterson Drive in Elizabethtown. Running from 7 a.m. to noon, the market invites the community to join in the festivities, with a dedicated ceremony scheduled from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Market manager Chad Queen promises an array of prizes, including hourly door prizes and complementary T-shirts for the first 50 attendees. The Hardin County Conservation District will also distribute rain gauges as part of the celebration.

The ceremony features an exciting lineup of events and speakers, including a special rendition of "My Old Kentucky Home" performed by North Hardin High School's Anna Vaughan. A representative from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture will provide remarks, and Miss Kentucky, Hannah Edelen, will make a special appearance. The ceremony culminates in a delectable treat of carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes, prepared by The Gathering Bakery using ingredients from local farms.

Queen emphasizes the significance of the anniversary celebration, highlighting the market's rich history and its role in fostering a sense of community. The event offers an opportunity for attendees to connect with the farmers who diligently produce the food enjoyed by many throughout the years.

By honoring the market's past, embracing the present, and looking towards the future, the Hardin County Farmers' Market aims to strengthen community bonds while showcasing the dedication and hard work of local farmers. The anniversary celebration serves as a meaningful gift from a community-minded organization, bringing people together for a memorable day of fellowship, celebration, and appreciation.
