Kenton County's Free Radical Ranch accepted into Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Market program

Kenton County's Free Radical Ranch accepted into Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Market program

Kenton County's Free Radical Ranch has been accepted into the Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Market program. The program is designed to promote Kentucky's farm markets, roadside markets, and agritourism destinations.

Free Radical Ranch, located in Independence, offers fresh vegetables, fruit, honey, and farm-fresh eggs to the community. The farm's owner, Brandon Broughton, is proud of the certification and hopes it will help promote his business and encourage customers to buy local.

The Certified Farm Market program requires participants to meet certain standards, such as offering at least 50% of their products from their own farm, having adequate liability insurance, and complying with all state and local regulations.

The program also provides marketing opportunities for participants, including the use of the Certified Farm Market logo, which helps consumers identify and support local farms and markets.

According to Mark Haney, president of the Kentucky Farm Bureau, the program has been successful in promoting local agriculture and supporting small businesses. He hopes that the addition of Free Radical Ranch to the program will continue to promote local agriculture and encourage consumers to support small farms in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Farm Market program is open to all Kentucky farmers and offers a valuable opportunity for farmers to promote their businesses and connect with consumers who value fresh, locally grown products.
