The 2022 Small, Limited-Resource, Minority Farmers Conference will be hosted Nov. 15-17 in Frankfort. This is Kentucky State University's 24th annual conference and the first in-person conference after several years of learning virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's theme is "Plowing and Planting: New Strategies for the New Norm." In this ever-changing environment of an increasing population and challenging food production, we must educate ourselves about the new and current trends in agriculture and related industries. This conference will provide farmers an opportunity to learn from and network with industry professionals and other farmers; tour facilities such as Kentucky State University's Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm and Aquaculture Research Center; hear success stories from farmers; and, attend the Third Thursday Thing workshop on sustainable agriculture opportunities in Kentucky.
During the conference, participants will also recognize the Kentucky Small, Limited-Resource Farmer of the Year and the Women in Agriculture Excellence awardee.
