The 3rd annual Farm Field Day was held at the Whitley County Fair Grounds on Friday morning. The event featured booths and exhibits on a variety of farming topics, with a special focus on safety.
Miss Kentucky Mallory Hudson spoke about the importance of farm safety, emphasizing the need to wear appropriate clothing and gear when operating machinery. She also encouraged farmers to be aware of their surroundings and to take precautions to avoid accidents.
“My catchphrase was ‘gear up before you rev up’ regarding ATV safety,” Hudson said. “You have to dress for the job.”
The event was organized by the Whitley County UK Cooperative Extension Office.
In addition to safety, the Farm Field Day also featured exhibits on a variety of other farming topics, including crop production, livestock management, and marketing. There were also opportunities for farmers to learn about new technologies and techniques.
Farm Field Day is a valuable resource for farmers of all experience levels. It is a great opportunity to learn about new farming practices, network with other farmers, and get advice from experts.
