KFB Education Foundation Awards Record $751K in Scholarships

Kentucky Farm Bureau's Education Foundation has achieved a milestone by awarding a record-breaking $751,250 in scholarships to 561 Kentucky students for their postsecondary education. These scholarships encompass a wide range of categories, including those pursuing degrees in animal health/veterinary technology, agriculture, trade schools, and more.

Statewide scholarships are available for students attending Kentucky colleges or universities, particularly those from farm families. There are also opportunities for graduate students in the University of Kentucky's College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, as well as those focusing on horticulture or landscape architecture.

County scholarships, on the other hand, require applicants' parents or legal guardians to be members of the sponsoring county Farm Bureau. Maintaining county Farm Bureau membership is a condition for these scholarships, with potential increases for students majoring in agriculture-related fields.

Mark Haney, KFB President, emphasized their commitment to supporting the education of future generations of Kentuckians, especially those deeply rooted in rural communities. These scholarships help students access postsecondary education, fostering their academic goals in various fields, including agriculture, and guiding them toward a promising future.

The scholarships can be applied to tuition, housing, books, and other educational expenses, benefiting children of Kentucky Farm Bureau members who maintain their membership during the scholarship period. For the Leadership in Agriculture Scholarship, active engagement of the recipient's parents in production agriculture is a specific requirement.

The Education Foundation looks forward to witnessing the success of these scholarship recipients as they pursue their educational endeavors and contribute to Kentucky's future leadership.
