Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) titled "Managing Damage and Threats of Damage Caused by Birds in Kentucky" in cooperation with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternative approaches to WS involvement in bird damage management in Kentucky, including bird damage that could occur on properties owned or managed by the TVA. The EA is available for review and comment prior to issuing a decision. The proposed action is to implement an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce bird damage to agricultural resources, property, and natural resources, and threats to human health and safety. WS and the TVA are requesting that the public review and provide their comments on the EA by the end of the day on April 14.
Interested parties may view and provide comments on the EA by going to https://www.regulations.gov. In the search box, enter APHIS-2023-0026.
You may also request a copy of the EA and send written comments to:

To receive full consideration prior to the decision, comments on the EA must be provided at https://www.regulations.gov/ or received in writing at the address indicated by the end of the day on April 14.
All comments received, including the names and addresses of those people who comment, will be part of the public record and will be released for public review as required and allowed by law. Comments, information, and analyses provided should be as specific as possible and an explanation of why the information is important to the analysis should be included.
