Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles has recently appointed new members to the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board (KADB) and the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation (KAFC).
Dan Flanagan, a farmer from Campbellsville, was reappointed to the KAFC board. He will continue to represent tobacco farmers. Lori Noel, an executive vice president/chief lending officer at a bank in Kirksey, was appointed to the KAFC board. She will represent commercial lender officers.
The KAFC addresses the unique financing needs of agriculture in Kentucky. It provides access to low-interest loan programs through joint partnerships with local lending institutions. The KAFC helps beginning farmers, farm families, and agribusinesses obtain the necessary capital to establish, maintain, or expand their agricultural operations.
Matt Hinton, an agribusiness owner from Flemingsburg, was reappointed to the KADK board. He will continue to represent the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Gordon Jones, a farmer from Bowling Green, and Al Pedigo, a farmer from Scottsville, were also reappointed to the KADK board. They will continue to represent active farmers.
The KADK provides grants and incentives to help farmers and agribusinesses innovate and grow.
These appointments are part of Commissioner Quarles' efforts to strengthen Kentucky agriculture and support the state's farmers and agribusinesses.
